Thanksgiving Touch: Church to Table
There is a ministry in Hong Kong that has a heart for the least of these, the hurting, and in particular women who are in the sex industry. The ministry shows them a way out— through the heart of a Father who loves them.
This Thanksgiving we were so blessed to have the Founder of Sons and Daughters HK, Kelley Craft, and co-hearted laborer Abbie Jean Short come and love on us. It was a part of Kelley & Abbie starting a new ministry chapter. Passing the generational baton of Sons & Daughters to new hands and hearts, turning towards the nations, doing a lovesick evangelism tour through Asia before they run a food truck in the U.S. for a season and see what God may have for them in Iris Global ministries or anywhere in the world that he calls them.
But for us, they brought food and their serving hearts to make the meals and to launch something that has been on my own heart— Church to table. Which is simply my heart saying that church is not a scary word but a community word, for the hurting to realize their pain can be shared & met by Jesus in others, for the least of these to taste the freedom of how good God is, for all of us to feel the reality of trusting Him freshly. We will see what God makes Church to table. Yet, for thanksgiving He extended his heart because people came and tried to love, cook, serve, listen and play. We are so grateful. I am so grateful.
