Some Good Quotes

Monday, February 27th, 2006

I read a couple of great quotes in Discipleship Journal this morning.

“If we could read the secret history of our enemies, we should find in each man’s life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.” Henry W. Longfellow

“Dialogue is to love what blood is to the body. When the flow of blood stops, the body dies. When dialogue stops, love dies and resentment and hate are born.” Reuel Howe

If you’ve never read Discipleship Journal, follow the link and check it out. It’s one of my top 3 magazines that I receive, if not top 1 or 2. This month, they’re doing a series called “Why Are Christians So Intolerant?” {and other tough questions nonChristians ask}. It’s good stuff.

The Best Valentine’s Day News Ever!

Wednesday, February 15th, 2006

Months & months ago, I heard from my good friend Eva Marie about a little girl named Rebekah who was very sick with cancer. For months, I have been praying for her. And today, I heard the best Valentine’s Day News ever (well, the news was posted on V-Day, even though today is the day after):

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

We had quite a bit of snow today. So much fun! We went out this morning to play in it and I took some pictures.

A school near where we live:

If you know me, you know I love dogs! I’ll play with anyone’s dog who comes along since we can’t have a dog of our own. We met Marshall when we were out & about.

Roy thinks Marshall looks like a lion here:

We got really cold after about an hour and a half since the wind chill factor was below zero and went back in. And then it just kept snowing and snowing and snowing!

Hope everyone’s safe and warm!
